I am a passionate believer that it is every pregnant person’s right to feel listened to and safe before, during and after giving birth. I also believe that everyone has the right to choose whatever kind of birth they want; there is not a right or wrong way to give birth.

My sincere commitment to my clients is to help guide them through the amazing and vulnerable journey that is birth. After the very difficult birth of my first child, it became my mission to help other pregnant people and families avoid the same experience. As a doula, my goal is to support birthers and other family members, providing them with the opportunity for a positive and empowering birth experience! I use evidence-based information to provide my clients with research that in turn takes away any bias from me. It’s important that my clients have all the information and can then make the most informed decisions for their family.

I am a certified professional birth and postpartum doula trained through a 200-hour certification process with Allo Doula Academy. This comprehensive and rigorous training prepares doulas for real-world situations by having them complete clinical experiences in hospital environments and classroom sessions.

When I’m not working in the doula world, you can find me exploring the outdoors, working in our quaint little garden, running around with my two young children, walking our sweet westie dogs around the neighborhood, or taking photos of babies and births!

ENCOURAGING

If anyone is looking to hire a doula, you won’t find a better one—I know because Lena helped me usher my daughter into the world!

Lena was professional, unflappable, friendly, compassionate, intense, tireless, immensely selfless and helpful, and beautifully emotionally attached to the process of pregnancy/labor/delivery/postpartum/BABY.

I’ll never forget when I needed one more minute of encouragement to push the baby out and she looked me in the eye and reminded me, “YOU ARE GOING TO MEET YOUR BABY.” It was exactly what I needed and we met our daughter seconds later! She is the best combination of love and support I could have ever asked for.

Meeting my son for the first time after an unplanned cesarean birth. I was just coming out of general anesthesia and was told to start nursing. I could barely hold my arms up and was so confused. This event started me down the road to becoming a professional birth doula so that no other birthing person would have to feel like I did in that moment.

SUPPORTIVE

Including Lena in our birth experience was such a great decision. She was caring, and helpful, and supported us throughout the entire birth experience — including answering all of my random questions leading up to birth.

She was so friendly and personable and put my husband and I at ease, and was also a huge help to the nursing staff at Rose.

She also took beautiful photos of the birth; my favorites are the moments she captured those first few seconds when we met our baby boy and we’ll forever be grateful for having these moments to look back on. I highly recommend choosing her as your doula!

The birth of our second child. I needed a cesarean birth because of my anatomy, but with all the knowledge I had been soaking in working on becoming a doula, I felt totally equipped to handle this birth completely differently than my first.
